Location: Worksop, S80 3AT

Hours: 40hpw, 08:30-17:00 Monday to Friday

Salary: between £35,000 and £45,000 pa DOE

 

Are you passionate about turning complex engineering into clear, user-friendly documentation? We’re looking for a proactive Technical Author/Technical Compliance Engineer to join our Engineering team at TMUK Worksop!

In this varied role, you’ll create and update technical manuals and documentation for refuse and recycling vehicles, ensuring compliance with CE/UKCA marking and the Machinery Directive. You’ll work closely with engineers and other departments to make sure our manuals and technical files are accurate, compliant, and easy to use.

What you’ll do:

  • Produce and revise technical operation and maintenance manuals
  • Compile Technical Construction Files and ensure compliance with relevant standards and legislation
  • Create documents for engineering, production, and training teams
  • Liaise across departments to ensure documentation meets requirements
  • Operate vehicles and equipment to verify documentation accuracy

What you’ll bring:

  • Experience writing technical manuals for machinery with mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems
  • Understanding of the Machinery Directive and ISO9001 quality systems
  • Minimum 3 years in a similar role (waste, recycling, yellow goods, or similar industries)
  • HNC/HND in an engineering subject or equivalent experience
  • High attention to detail and strong written/verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office; experience with Coral Draw, Adobe, Paligo, or AutoCAD is a plus
  • Willingness to travel and operate equipment as needed
