Role: Senior Mechanical Design Engineer

Location: Warwick, CV34 6TE (with the option to work from home up to 2 days a week, once you've settled into the role)

Hours: 37 hours per week | between 08:00 and 16:30 Monday to Thursday, and 08:00-13:00 Friday

Salary: between £40,000 and £60,000 pa DOE

Are you an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer ready to shape the next generation of market‑leading products? We’re looking for a proactive, driven and solutions‑focused Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join our Chassis Engineering Team in Warwick.

In this role, you’ll lead the design and development of complex systems and components, provide technical expertise across projects, and help guide best practice within the engineering function. If you thrive on solving engineering challenges, improving products, and driving innovation, this is an exciting opportunity to make a real impact.

What you’ll do:

  • Lead the concept development, design and detailing of systems and components.
  • Translate needs into clear requirements, identify problems, and develop effective engineering solutions.
  • Act as a technical mentor, sharing best practice and guiding engineers across the team.
  • Communicate design intent and requirements confidently with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Define and oversee validation activities to ensure products meet specification.
  • Support product launches and collaborate with Production to resolve build issues.
  • Investigate field issues, identify root causes, and recommend robust engineering resolutions.

What we’re looking for:

  • Strong, rounded engineering knowledge, including stress, strain, fatigue and manual calculations.
  • Proven experience working in a relevant engineering environment with strong understanding of manufacturing processes.
  • Demonstrable ability to take designs through the full product lifecycle, applying BS8888 and producing high‑quality drawings.
  • Proficient in CAD (ideally Solid Edge), BOM creation, and material specifications.
  • Knowledge of structures, DFM/DFA, welding, fastener technology, and vehicle systems.
  • A proactive problem solver with a positive, can‑do attitude, able to work autonomously and as part of a cross‑functional team.
  • Excellent communication skills and the confidence to lead technical delivery for projects.
  • Educated to MEng/BEng level or HNC/HND/Apprenticeship in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent).
