Role: Mechanical Design Engineer
Location: Warwick, CV34 6TE (with the option to work from home up to 2 days a week, once you've settled into the role)
Hours: 37 hours per week | between 08:00 and 16:30 Monday to Thursday, and 08:00-13:00 Friday
Salary: between £40,000 and £55,000 pa DOE
We’re looking for a capable and hands-on engineer to join our Chassis Team, playing a key role in the design and development of the next generation of market-leading products. This is a great opportunity for someone with solid industry experience who enjoys owning their work, contributing to complex projects, and supporting the development of others within a collaborative team.
What you’ll do:

Take responsibility for the design and development of systems and components, supporting projects from concept through to production

Translate requirements into practical engineering solutions, ensuring designs are robust and fit for purpose

Produce high-quality engineering drawings, models, and documentation

Work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver projects to time, cost, and quality expectations

Support product launches and provide engineering input to resolve production and in-service issues

Investigate technical and field issues, carry out root cause analysis, and implement effective solutions

Contribute to validation activities, ensuring designs meet required standards and performance criteria

Share knowledge and support less experienced engineers where appropriate
What we’re looking for:

Degree (MEng/BEng), HNC/HND, or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline

Proven experience in a design engineering role, ideally within automotive or a similar engineering environment

Strong understanding of engineering fundamentals, including materials, stress, fatigue, and design principles

Experience using CAD (Solid Edge desirable) and producing engineering drawings to recognised standards (e.g. BS8888)

Knowledge of manufacturing processes and design for manufacture/assembly

Experience working across the product lifecycle, from concept through to production support

Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to manage your own workload effectively

Good communication skills and a collaborative working style
