At Terberg DTS, we're looking for a QHSE Coordinator to join our team in Elland. This is a varied and rewarding role that combines Health & Safety and Environmental responsibilities, providing the opportunity to make a meaningful impact across our operations.

You'll play a key role in supporting compliance with HSE legislation, maintaining ISO management systems, coordinating audits and training activities, and helping to foster a positive safety-first culture throughout the business. Working closely with the Health & Safety Manager and Quality Manager, you'll contribute to initiatives that protect our people, our customers, and the environment while supporting the continued growth and success of Terberg DTS.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Supporting the Health & Safety, Environmental and Quality Managers in delivering key business objectives and compliance requirements.
  • Conducting regular site inspections covering health & safety, environmental, fire, and equipment compliance.
  • Identifying workplace risks and supporting the implementation of corrective and preventative actions.
  • Completing and maintaining COSHH assessments and associated documentation.
  • Monitoring environmental performance data including noise, air, and water testing results.
  • Supporting the development, implementation, and maintenance of ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 management systems.
  • Conducting internal audits and layered process audits to ensure compliance with company standards and external regulations.
  • Assisting in the management and continuous improvement of the Environmental Management System (EMS).
  • Organising and coordinating employee HSE training programmes and maintaining associated records.
  • Delivering inductions for new employees and providing essential health, safety, and environmental information.
  • Delivering in-house HSE training sessions and awareness initiatives.
  • Coordinating fire drills, safety inspections, and statutory compliance checks.
  • Maintaining accurate training, compliance, and audit records using company systems and databases.
  • Providing HSE documentation and information to customers and other external stakeholders when required.
  • Supporting site management and employees with practical advice and guidance on HSE matters.
  • Monitoring and reporting on key HSE performance indicators and recommending improvements.
  • Assisting in the development and delivery of annual HSE improvement plans and initiatives.
  • Building relationships with regulatory bodies, service teams, and external stakeholders to support compliance activities.
  • Participating in HSE networks and forums to share best practice and drive continuous improvement.
  • Travelling occasionally to other company locations to support HSE activities, audits, and projects.
  • Supporting wider QHSE projects and initiatives as required by the business.

Desirable Knowledge & Experience

  • Experience working within a Health, Safety and Environmental role.
  • Knowledge of current Health & Safety legislation and risk management principles.
  • Understanding of Environmental Management Systems and environmental compliance requirements.
  • Experience supporting or maintaining ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 management systems.
  • Experience conducting internal audits and compliance inspections.
  • Knowledge of COSHH assessments and workplace risk assessment processes.
  • Experience delivering training, inductions, or awareness sessions.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams.
  • Experience analysing HSE performance data and producing reports.
  • Experience working within engineering, manufacturing, service, or industrial environments would be advantageous.

Qualifications Required

  • NEBOSH General Certificate (minimum requirement).
  • ISO 14001 Internal Auditor qualification.
  • Proven experience within a Health, Safety and Environmental role.
  • GCSE Mathematics (Grade C / 4 or above) or equivalent.
  • GCSE English (Grade C / 4 or above) or equivalent.
